Current country or territory of residence

Hello all,

I am an international graduate student and currently pursuing my research remotely for past seven months from my home country, Nepal. I want to apply for study permit extension.
1)Can I apply for study permit extension from my home country?

2) If yes, what should be the answer to 'current country of residence?' in the questionnaire section of the initial screening questions.

3) I have one more question, Can I also apply for my wife's SOWP application together with study permit extension application?

1. No. Extensions can only be applied within Canada.

When did your permit expire and how long will you be extending for?

@Naturgrl My study permit expires on November 30th this year. I will be extending till 2024 august.

I am a full time registered research student and I am working remotely from my home country at this time. I also want to apply for my wife's spousal open work permit at the same time. Looks like better option is to apply for a new study permit and SOWP together.
Do you have any better recommendation in this case?
I hope they will give decision for new application in couple of months. If not I still can go to canada till current study permit expires.
