Hi everyone,
Me and my spouse received an ITA in the CEC draw. My spouse's mother is visiting us in Canada. She has extended her visit legally by obtaining a visitor record. The extension she has received is for an additional 1 year after her original 6-month duration to visit Canada expires.
What do we mention as her current country of residence in our PR application in the immediate family information section?
We don't want to mention Canada as it would misrepresent her intention to leave Canada. At the same time, 6 months + the possibility of another year is quite long, despite legally merely being a visit.
Is it okay if we mention her country fo residence as her home-country and include in the explanation that she is visiting Canada and that she has obtained a visitor record to extend her visit. Does this cover our whole situation? We don't want to misrepresent anything.
Please let me know what you think?
Note: this is all for identifying an immediate family member in my and my spouse's PR application. Mother is a visitor and is otherwise not included in the PR application.
