Georgia to be exact!

Hello all!

In any event, all things aside - i'm planning a trip to visit my girlfriend in Victoria, BC this March. I've read up and researched what I can - found out I don't need a visitor's visa, etc to fly in, just need the passport of which I have!

I plan on staying for about 3 months give or take - no longer than that. I will have a return flight and all that fun stuff for the ticket and plan on having a few things printed out I guess to show my ties? I mean all my stuff is back home but do live with family/have no kids. I will have a place to stay of course (with her), and considering we are both adults i'm understanding that shouldn't be an issue as such with age. Going to be 30 in March, so there you have it. I do not currently have a "normal" job (I didn't want to nab one before hand then be gone for three months and lose the darn thing considering how hard it is to get one in general over here, etc) and do freelance work here - art related.

I've read up some people have issues staying for longer (even though a lot of those involve multiple trips, marriage, etc) and was wanting I suppose some clarification if a 3 month visit would be imposing on anything in specific? Should I make it shorter? I don't really want to but i'd rather not have a bunch of crazy questions in my general direction. I'm pretty honest so i'll answer everything to the best of my ability. I've been told I really shouldn't have any problems considering I won't have much with me (unless my laptop, an average suitcase with some clothes and a bag are an issue), and in general it is just a visit. I mean, are they going to want a specific amount of money in my bank account or something or does it even matter with a short visit like that? I say "short" as it isn't the whole 6 month deal and I probably wouldn't be popping back anytime soon after the fact. Like, say, next time might be if I can swing it a short trip during the Holidays.

It has been a LOOONG time since i've been on an international trip - and I don't really count me being a kid and my parents doing all the dirty work counting as official experience on my part. :p I'm just a bit nervous even though it is a couple months out. Probably good chance i'm just over reacting but i'd rather have all my bases covered. IE, my experience with this stuff is pretty nil so some closure would probably settle my mind by quite a bit.

Thanks in advance and cheers! :)

Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
Being too honest and upfront might not be in your best interest.

From what it looks like, a stable permanent job is one of the biggies when showing ties to your country. Other factors are assets (property etc). So in my assessment, its a bit risky (but thats just me and i am no Visa Officer). Usually, cases involving visiting gf/ bf are definitely frowned upon and expect some grilling (specially when you ask for a 3 month stay).

If i were you, I would just state that you are visiting some friends/ sightseeing for a few weeks. You don't need to have a return ticket, just fly into seattle and take the boat over. Normally they don't care but be prepared to state who your friends are, their names, address, etc.

Once granted, you can stay upto 6 months so you'll be fine.

I went to the US last month and it was for 2 weeks with return flight and everything and i still got a 6 month stay permission.
