hi guys, my EE application says that I've got 0 points on CRS - Spouse - Level of Education.
Even though I have indicated that my wife had 3 years of Secondary School education (that means she finished 9 classes, and got certificate equivalent to "Secondary School - High School Graduation" for finishing those classes).

She is supposed to add 2 more points, no?

Is your spouse's education assessed by WES or any other assessing agency? You would only get points if the education is assessed to be equivalent to Canadian high school degree.

  • I didnt realize one needs to "assess" such a low level degree
  • Does WES even evaluate such things?

lol, the evaluation costs at least 200$+, would be silly to pay that for extra two points...
Is it considered a "High School Degree"? or only those for finishing 12 years of study?

Any degree that will give you points NEEDs to be assessed, so it might not be worth it for just 2 extra points. How it will be assessed will depend on a lot of things so not sure if your spouse would get a positive assessment even if you decided to get it assessed.

Hi everyone,

I got an ITA about a week ago and currently filling out all the details. I have included my common-law partner into my application. I am not claiming any points for his work experience nor education. In the Express Entry profile I did include his previous jobs, without claiming any points and didn’t add his high-school education as I have no ECA because not claiming any points for it.

In the current PR application, I need to fill out my partner’s personal, study & work history. Now, the question is whether or not to include his work history/high school education as I didn’t claim any points for those. Or should I just mention those in his personal history and not fill them out in the ‘study’ nor ‘work experience’ field?

Thank you :)

If you are not claiming points for them add them under personal history
