CRS-Skill Transfer Foreign Work exp only 13 pts in EE , but I calculated 25 ?

Hi all ,

some details.

Bachelors in Computer Science.
NOC : 2173
Work exp : 10+ years.

Listening 7.5 CLB 8
Reading 6.5 CLB 8
Writing 7.5 CLB 10
Speaking 8.5 CLB 10

When I calculated points with the CRS tool , it says

Skills transerferability factors
--------------------------------
A) Official Language proficiency and foreign work experience = 25 points.


But when I submitted the EE profile it gives only 13 points for the same thing. I have mentioned 2173 NOC as intended occupation and all my work experience also I have mentioned 2173. Even my paper pen calculation also gives 25 points.

What might be wrong with EE calculating my points as 13 for this ?

Well , as a test to check whats going wrong, I listed only one job as you can see in the screenshot. Still it gives only 13 points !

( 2015 - 2006 ) = 9 years of experience in 2173 NOC. and CLB of 7+.
The condition is satisfied. Still 13 points ! , have to figure out whats wrong.

Maybe I will create a new test profile and see.

Just to clarify:

- you have more than 3 years of foreign work experience in the last 10 years, and you listed all relevant jobs in the work experience section?
- all jobs you have done were full-time, or were some of them part-time?

Yes & no part times , all are full-time. I think it's a bug. My current residence is US, but my job experience is India as well citizenship is India. I think they are considering Indian work experience is not foreign because I am an Indian citizen ? In that case they are stupid.

It is indeed correct.
Those 13 points are because of your education is only 112 points. In order to get 25 points you need to have 2 or more diplomas or higher. Check the expres entry point system.

Post-secondary program credential of one year or longer 13
Two or more post-secondary program credentials AND at least one of these credentials was issued on completion of a post-secondary program of three years or longer 25

As for the foreign work experience, that question is somewhat tricky what exactly is it considered under that. (if by foreign it is meant any job experience outside canada or outside canada and your citizenship countries).

just for the recheck, did you fill in number of hours per week correctly (to be counted as full time employment you need 30+. You can also try one more trick (to fill in starting of employment that is from october 2006 onward - if ever there is any kind of bug regarding calculation employments that did start before that 10 years period.

Thank you vensak & dan_and , It was my clumsy mistake. I gave the hours worked as 9.
I didn't read the textbox's label properly. It was hours worked per week. After giving
9 x 5 = 45 hours. I got the points as 25.
