Hi All,

My current CRS score is 462... Will i receive an ITA this year????

Age 32, Postgraduate, IELTS S:8, L: 8.5, R: 8.5, W:7

Wait a few more days until they release the mid year report. We'll have a better idea then.

But, if things continue the way they are (with 700 invites per draw), you will not get it this year.

You will most probably get it! Be positive! Don't worry about the ITA! The more you think about it, you will experience more restlessness! We cannot control IRCC and therefore we should not worry about the ITA. All we need to worry about our points and the various means to improve the points. We don't know what IRCC game plan is. As of now, this year, so far, it was all about refugees, reduced economic immigrant quota intake and previous paper based application backlogs. Now, they are talking about new streamlined EE system, more points to international students. Going forward, we don't know how Brexit and American presidential elections are going to impact Canadian immigration. So, there are lot of stakeholders in this game that control the immigration in Canada. Hence, even though it is tough, all we need to do is to be patient and continue to improve our points in every possible way!

Nobody can tell you that. All people can do is make predictions based on things staying the same, and if things stay the same, the answer is no.

When Harper was PM, there were a bunch of people asking the same question - I'm at 448, will I get picked? People told them to wait, saw that the scores were dropping for a while, and assumed it would continue. People were predicting sub-400 scores, insistent that the scores couldn't go higher. They did, and 460 might be the new 400.

If you want the highest chance of coming to Canada, then the question is not whether the scores will drop enough to pick you, but what you can do to get your points up. Are you eligible for PNP programs? Can you improve your work scores? Language scores? Are there things you can do to become one of the 700 people they pick in a draw?

Common sense is sorely lacking in this forum.

460 will never be the new 400.

The thing is, the number of ITAs and draws are not random. Nobody in IRCC decides "hey Goerge, let's invite 755 today and 2500 next month.." just out of the blue.

By limiting the number of ITAs they are keeping the number of people entering Canada in 2016 CONSTANT <-- that means they are granting PRs to a whole lot of older pre-EE applicants. I know they are.

In the last quarter of this year, new ITAs issued will never reach the landing stage by the end of 2016 - so the current trend will cease by then.

You can't compare this to last year's "Oh I think it might go below 400, let's stay positive" sort of stuff. Those wishful thoughts had no logic or rational analysis backing them.

How do I get nominated for PNP?

Unless you can get provincial nomination or job offer to boost your score, you will have to wait to be invited.

462 is a pretty good score. It's just that CIC is restricting invites to work on refugee applicants and paper based applications.

Things should normalize soon. For now just prepare for your documents and stay positive.

almost same here , sitting at 474, i'm 30, the only way to get score up is to learn French for me, but it will take forever to do that. :o

I'm on 462 too :)
If you dont have provincial nomination, there is chance that score will drop around 450-460 by end of year... if they increase pool size from 700 change to 1500-2000 change...
Otherwise I'm hearing that OINP will restart nominations in November... If you have a high score like that then there is more than a good chance they would like to nominate you.

Not like we have any choice on the matter, but let's just look forward to September, it's just a month away!

If you want a quicker way to get points, try SINP or NB PNP.

In the past, the score has dropped as low as 450, so this range is entirely possible. (It went up this year to compensate for the additional acceptance of those Syrian refugees at the beginning of the year.)

Also, there is a rumour going around that at the end of this year (October, if I remember correctly), CIC will finally have finished sorting through the backlog of paper applications that were sent in before EE existed, so the number of EE applicants sent ITAs in each draw will increase, which would have the effect of driving the scores down.

This rumour is unconfirmed, though, but someone heard it from a person who works for CIC, although that person did not have the authority to give official information about this.

So take it all with a grain of salt, because no one knows what will happen in the future.
