Hi all,

After long struggle and all the hard ship, I finally received my COPR.
I would like to thank everyone that have been very helpful answering my doubts.
One last question, if I would like to go crossing the border to activate my PR, do I need to have a US visa?
In the past, people could just tell the agent that they are flagpoling, so they would be escorted out and back to Canada without US visa.

Any feedback or experience with this?
Many many thanks

You don't need a US visa to flagpole, that's still applicable right now, not just "in the past".

I was informed of this by the CBP officer when I did my landing a few months ago (I had a US visa), and she specifically used the word "flagpole".

Do a search, and you'll find dozens of other examples.

Nope you do not need US Visa, Just go to the Immigration office on the Niagara border and tell them you want to do flagpole and they will tell you the whole procedure,

Once you cross the Peace bridge and at the US Side tell them that you are there to do flagpolling for the PR Pupose, they will give you a Flagpolling letter which will state that "you have been sent back to canada and your entry has been denied to US" thats it....It is easy. Best of luck

Thanks guys.

I'm in Alberta, I will do more research on this as some people told me the rules had changed.
Glad to hear that you guys did that couple months ago.

There have been some rumblings here that the Carway, AB officers aren't the friendliest, so maybe that's why you got that impression from others.
