Crossing border to extend your stay?

We currently have an outland application in process eventhough I am in Canada (I am from a visa exempt country).

We haven't heard from our Visa Office yet, so a decission is not for in the near future. Fingers crossed for a miracle though.

Has anyone got any experience with crossing the border to extend your stay (as a visitor/tourist) in Canda?

Why take the chance? Send the extension application to Vegreville.

We are taking that chance on Friday, we have copies of all the paper work we sent for the PR ouland application. We are taking our baby boy with us, and hoping to get some sympathy when I tell them he is my only means of daycare for our son, as I have no family in the area.

Try in the middle of the night to cross when the baby is sleeping. That's how I crossed everytime and I had no problem. The last time (about a month ago) the IO didn't even check the backseat. Make sure you have his birth certificate on top of his passport.

I will extend my visit via mail I really do not want to try the re-entry at the border. Good luck~~

You can apply for an extension as late as the day before your current stay expires. If you do it online, you can wait till the last minute with confidence. You're allowed to stay under implied status then until you get an answer back on the extension request.
