Critical- Asking for medical again for open work permit

This is the story so far :
My wife is in India and i work in Canada on a PG work permit.
My wife's visitor visa was refused for lack of ties to home country one month back.
We reapplied for spousal visa with open work permit with all documentation.

For the visitor visa we had done a medical.

reverting to the present we reapplied 15 work days back.yesterday we got the passport back with a letter from emmigration saying my wife needs to do a medical(Please remember she had already done one 1 month before and we put the reciept number when we applied again).

So she is going to do a medical again.

My questions are :
1)They her to do a medical;is it a good news or bad news regarding her visa.
2)Do we have to send all the suppoirting documents we submitted 15 days back again once her medical is done?
3)The hospital says they can do a medical for a person only once a year?So what sould we tell them so that they will do it again.
4)How will submit the mdecical reciept to emmigration now?
5)Is there anything else i need to know?

Thanks,

CIC has special doctors for immigration medical exams - they are called Designated Medical Practioners (DMP). They will only accept test results from these DMPs. Your wife has to make an appointment with one of the DMPs in her home country to do the medicals. They will send the results to the right visa office.

Here is a list of DMPs in India: http://www.cic.gc.ca/dmp-md/medicalinfo.aspx?CountryID=1995&CountryName=India

Thanks Senorita for your reply......

But my issue is that my wife already has done a medical for her visiting visa(that visa got rejected).

So we re-applied for spousal visa with open work permit .We send the receipt of the previous medical test that was only ONE MONTH old.

But cic is asking us to take the medical examination again.

Thats what am not understanding.

Your wife simply needs to go back to the same DMP that did her first medical and ask him/her to report her results again using the file number she received for her spousal visa application. The results will be re-assigned to her new visa application.

Thanks Senorita......

We appreciate your help.

Still the only nagging problem is "Why do they want me to send it again since they already have it and i have mentioned the receipt number in the application"

This is how it works:

let's say visitor visa(rejected) - file number was 1234

spousal work permit - file number is 6789

When the VO enters "6789" nothing will come up because no medicals have been reported under that file number and the VO won't go looking for it, so they simply send a medical request. Sometimes they just follow SOPs i.e. because medical request is the next step, they send a request without checking database for existing medicals. :)

That is why you have to ask the DMP to report results again using the new file #, otherwise, you will pay money again when you have valid medicals. This is what my DMP did.

Hello Senorita,

My wife did her medical again as the doctor said he cannot link the previous medical to this file number.

Anyway we got it done now have to send to Consulate.

Thanks

Things are all done and dusted in this case, but you might want to check out the OP Manuals as I think there could be a difference between the medicals done for TRV and other visas. Sorry, I don't have the reference on hand, but it rings a bell.

No harm done, just spent more money than you should have.

The medical exam is the same across the board regardless of the application.
