Criminality Before Eligibility?

Hi everyone,

I called CIC and they said my criminality has started but they haven't started the eligibility stage yet. Everything I read online about this process says they always do eligibility first, and then comes criminality and security. To add to this confusion, they also told me they haven't started looking at my medicals and I'm three days away from 3 months since AOR.

Is this common? My application seems to be in a weird order lol

They can start checks in different orders, it's really up to them what they do first. There's no set pattern in other words although generally they start with eligibility. But eligibility is also a long process which will usually take up the length of your processing period.

What's most important at this stage is to ensure your application is complete, if they've told you that then you know you're in a good position as long as you've given them all the information which ensures you have obtained the CRS you were invited with.
