Criminal Rehabilitation- US citizen

I am a US citizen and applied for a criminal rehabilitation in December of 2013 (for an incident that happened back in 2008). I rec'd an email saying they rec'd my application with an application # attached. Other than that I haven't heard anything at all. Is anyone in the same boat as me? What is the approximate timeline for processing? All they stated in the letter was "due to criminal rehabilitation applications being delicate situations they can not state a processing time". Also, is there any way to check the status online?

Usually about a year. No way to check on line, you can make an ATIP/Privacy request for the Global Case Management notes, via someone in Canada for $5 if you authorize them, or by one of the commercial providers such as CAIPS NOTES or CAIPS.ca
