Criminal check not started

Hi guys, I just wanted to know if anyone has any idea for the processing time for criminal check. I applied under h&c and my background is currently being processed. All the other checks have been completed except for the criminal which hasn’t started. It’s been a couple of months and it still hasn’t been started. I’m beginning to get worried. I know there’s no definite time but does anyone know the the time frame and the possible reason for it not being started. I’d really appreciate it if anyone can help.

The info in the tracker on whether different procedures have started/are in process are not consistently reliable.
