Hi All,

I sent my Application to CIO Sydney through courier and it was received on 5th June 2014 as per the Courier Tracking Summary. After a couple of months of waiting I realized that I couriered the application to the address meant for Regular Mail instead of the address meant for Courier :(

i.e I couriered my application to:
Citizenship and Immigration Canada
Federal Skilled Worker
NOC Category or Arranged Employment Category
Primary NOC 2011 Code: XXXX
Centralized Intake Office
PO BOX 7500
Sydney, NS
B1P 0A9
Canada

instead of sending it to:
Citizenship and Immigration Canada
Federal Skilled Worker
NOC Category, Offer of Arranged Employment category or PhD category
Primary NOC 2011 Code: XXXX
49 Dorchester Street
Sydney, NS
B1P 5Z2
Canada

I had sent a mail enquiry to CIO-Sydney-Search-Enquiry@cic.gc.ca on 22nd July 2014 about the status of my application but I have not got any response so far after close to a month. I replied over the same email a few days back after I realized about my blunder and explained my situation. Do you think the enquiry department would help me in this regard without a Case ID being generated?

Can anyone shed some light as to what would be the future of my application? What is the procedure followed by CIO office in this case? What should be the plan of action that I have to follow henceforth?

Any help in this regard would be greatly appreciated.

Regards...

Hi,

My opinion is everything should be fine with your application. Someone from CIO will reach PO BOX 7500 and withdraw all the packages at once and bring'em to the office. I bet they are doing this on a regular basis. The difference is that in the first case your courier simply drops the packages to the PO BOX whereas the second option implies that the courier delivery comes up to the office and hands your package to an officer or to a receptionist.

Have a good luck!

Thanks a lot RomanSPb :) your opinion about my problem helped. Do you think there is anyway in which I can get to know that my application is being processed in one of the case processing centers of CIC?

There are some more concerns of mine regarding my application. Would be greatful if you could provide your opinion on them too.

I had provided my credit card details in my application for the purpose of processing fee. Unfortunately, I lost that credit card and had to apply for a new one. I filled the processing fee form with the new card details and couriered it again to the same mailing address. Will my application be updated with the new fee processing updates?

Regards...

It is ok. The application was received by one of the officers at CIO. I got to know this when i filled the excel sheet and found the name of the officer who signed my courier among all the officers at CIO listed in the excel.

Hi

I mistakenly sent my application via courier to P.O Box address that reached there on 11th Sep 2014. The address was:

Citizenship and Immigration Canada
Federal Skilled Worker
NOC Category or Arranged Employment Category
Primary NOC 2011 Code: XXXX
Centralized Intake Office – Federal Skilled Worker (FSW)
P.O. BOX 7500
Sydney, NS B1P 0A9
Canada

Later I realized the above address is meant to send applications via regular mails. This act of mine kept me depressed for ages. However to get an inquiry about the issue, I emailed Sydney office asking what could be done to have an idea about my application that whether that was received by the right hand or lost somewhere. I received their reply last week that looks like this:

------------------------------------------------
Good morning:

As of the date of this email, I can find no record of your application in our database. It may be in the queue for initial processing. You may wish to submit a status inquiry in 2-3 weeks, and a further search can be conducted.

Thank you,

AQS
Client Service Unit
Citizenship and Immigration
Centralized Intake Office
Sydney, Nova Scotia, Canada

---------------------------------------

Please everyone on the forum, guide me what might be the possibilities are and what best should I do. Anxiously waiting to get proper and off course best solution to the problem.
Regards, Ibrahim

So it means that sending it using the address for regular mail instead of the courier's does not delay the application?

It takes around 3+ months for PER. you need not worry as long as you have the delivery acknowledgement from ur courier service and the name of the person who collected ur application. Enlist yourself in the spreadsheet whose link is there in my signature. You will get all timelines in that spreadsheet.

Thank you so much SonofOdin, you are a big help. Im trying to access the spreadsheet. The courier gave me the Piece ID, probably this is the
code of the person who received my application.

All courier's give the name of the person who signed for the package. Which courier did u send it through?

If you access the link to add a new entry to the SS, it will take you to a form where you have to enter all the details about your application. In this form there is also a holistic list of all CIC officers who collect the package. The courier delivery acknowledgement should have one of the officer's names. Once you add your entry using the form, your details get automatically added to the SS. You can access the SS whose google doc link is also in my signature. Bear in mind that the SS does not open in mobiles and tabs.

DHL. I just accessed the shipment status online but it did not reflect the name of the person
who received my application. it just stated the destination service area, shipment status and piece ID.

I will call the courier to ask. Thank you so much.
