1. Should my husband (sponsor) declare his start of employment as the date he got hired by an agency (adecco) to work for victaulic or should he put the date when the company (victaulic) got him as a regular employee?

2. Clarification, in form 5491, questions 22-24 and 26 - these documents are of the sponsored spouse`s and not the sponsors? Do we still need to submit ppt copy, police clearance etc of the sponsor?

3. My husband went to the Philippines and stayed for more than a year while being a permanent resident of Canada, while here he worked for our agency. Question is, should he declare this in form 5540, that he worked abroad???

thanks all ;)

1. I would attach an explanation of the situation. I would include the start dates of both.
2. The passport copy, proof of medical, and police certificate are of the sponsored person. The sponsor does not get a medical check or police certificate. However, include whatever ID documents the forms ask for for the sponsor. He may also want to include a copy of all pages of his passport for relationship proof if there are a lot of entry and exit stamps when he went to visit you or travel with you.
3. He should be truthful about his employment history. PRs can leave Canada; as long as he met the residency requirements to keep his PR status, he is OK. (If this stay abroad made him not meet the residency requirements, but CIC didn't notice, he'll have to hide it.)
