Country/Territory of issuance - passport

Hi everyone,

have been though the different threads on this forum and they all seemed to come up with their own conclusions "verified by CIC"..

Can anyone who has successfully completed the process please help me on this:

The question in EE is :Country/Territory of issuance
My passport says...Place of Issue: Dubai, UAE (Where I live)
But I am an Indian National...

so is my country of Issuance UAE or India?

I have always put UAE for this question in the past, but I am having doubts after reading the forums..

pls advise on how others have done this..

Country of issuance will be the same as country of citizenship. In your case, India. Place of issue can be UAE.

A cursory Google search provided this US federal site which is saying the same thing.

Yes, Asivad's right. Country of Issue will be India.
Our passports have the place of issue as Oman, but our consultants clarified that it has to be India as per your citizenship.
