My passport is valid until 2034, i just checked gckey out of curiosity and found an updare for which i did not receive any email, it is showing counterfoil valid and validity is just for 3 months. I am confused if there is any chances it will change or they are gona issue 3 months visa? passport submitted 19 sep 2024

You are never guaranteed a certain TRV length. There are clearly concerns about whether you are a genuine visitor. If you obey your visa conditions and visit Canada briefly you may get a longer TRV the next time.

Assume you may have applied to attend an event/conference. You are being given a TRV to attend the specific event and leave.
yes exactly i was just curious as my friend got until his passport expiry he applied 4-5 months ago, but yeah it does not matter as my conference is for 6 days still 3 months are more than enough
Due to abuse of TRVs IRCC seems to be being a bit more cautious.
