I'm a holder of a CSQ acquired via the PEQ program and I applied for permanent residence Feb. 2015 (application sent to Sydney, NS and forwarded to Ottawa). After over a year of processing with thankfully very little problem, a decision was made on Apr. 16th. After waiting two and half weeks for a letter from CIC and seeing that applicants of the same category already received theirs within a week, I e-mailed the Ottawa processing centre for an update and they said to have officially finalized the application and to have sent documents on Apr. 19th by regular mail service. I further asked them if they think it's rather unusual for a regular mail to take two and half weeks to be delivered from Ottawa to Montreal and what kind of documents they sent me. They replied, it's the Confirmation of Permanent Residence that has been sent and advised me to wait for it to arrive.
So, here am I, a week after the e-mails and still nothing in my mailbox. They even told me the address they sent the COPR to and it's correct. I'm seriously thinking that the COPR has been lost in the mail.
fyi I'm a US citizen living in Montreal on work permit.
Please advise me what I should best do. E-mail them again? Now or just wait a bit more? How much longer then? Any way to make them realize something is not going normally? Anything else?
