CoPR Letter - Valid to & Expiry Dates

Hello everyone,

I wanted to share the good news that it only took CIC 5 months to process our spousal sponsorship application!

Now to my question. My spouse has two dates on the Confirmation of PR letter:
Expiry date: 2016/07/09
Valid to: 2016/06/02

Does my spouse have until July 9th to land in Canada or are we aiming for June 2nd here? Does CIC describe these dates on their website somewhere?

Not sure about it, but don't take any chance and consider landing before the closest date.

Expiry date = the expiry date of your passport/travel document. Note that it is listed in the personal details section. It has nothing to do with the validity of the CoPR

Valid to = the date until which the CoPR is valid and must be used. Note that it is listed in the application details section. THis is the relevant date.

So she has to land before June 2nd and NOT before July 9th.
