Hi!

Is there anyone here or perhaps you know someone who got his COPR extended due to medical reasons? (i.e. had a surgery and as a result could not spend 8hrs on a plane, before he recovered).

Any info much appreciated :)

Thanks

Generally, IRCC will not extend the visa/COPR validity date unless IRCC made an error.
How long was your COPR valid AFTER you received the paper copies?

I know the general rules, but perhaps someone had similar story, asked for extension and received it (or not).

Over 5 months, still valid for more than 3.

With that length of validity after you received it, IRCC’s position is most likely to be that you had plenty of time to "land".

Have you tried and decison was negative?

We have seen a number people try. Almost all were refused. I can only think of one case where the extension was approved. If I remember correctly, that individual was given an extremely short amount of time to land (i.e. 2-3 weeks) and had a medical situation that required hospitalization. I believe IRCC gave them a short extension of 1-2 months.

You can certainly try asking.
