I was surprised to know that one has to keep his/her COPR forever, as it will be needed to prove eligibility for pension!!!

Yup, COPR is a very important document. need to hang on to that thing forever!

I was thinking that it is needed only until you take the oath, and yesterday I was told during the oath to keep it forever! I find that an odd thing!

I need to keep mine and my children' until they can keep theirs by themselves!

You have to consider it as a birth certificate, it has the same powers.. (well except for automatic citizenship granting :) )
