Converting Closed to Open Work Permit

Hi All,

I have a question on behalf of my friend.

He is on his ICT Visa and he has a closed WP.

Is there any way by which he can change his Closed WP to his Open WP.

He has also applied for EE and if he gets his Open WP he will be able to get a job offer which would enable him gather enough points for his PR.

Has anyone done the same type of conversion before? Any suggestions will be most welcome. Thanks!!

I would love to know about it but I guess there isn't anyway until another company apply for open work permit.

You can't just change to an OWP unless you are part of an eligible program, such as IEC or PGWP as two examples.
An OWP will not get you a qualifying job offer. You still must have an LMIA to obtain the extra 600 points.
