Convert visitor visa in to work permit

Hi,

I have my cousin in India. Over there agent told that once he get visitor visa to canada he can apply for work permit during his stay in canada?

Is there something like that??

It is only possible through lmia, which is quiet hard to get but if your consultant have approved lmia then you can convert to work permit.
It might be possible, he'll charge large amount for that.

Consultants shouldn't have approved LMIA if this is legitimate operation. An employer must pay to have an LMIA done and then the person has to apply for a work visa. \sounds like the consultant is making flase promises and just wants to make money.

There are two types of lmia- lmia approved without name and another with someone else's name which can be changed later. You are right, employer pays for all expenses but if you are fortunate enough to find this kind of employer. Mostly, employers work through consultants and ask for big amount. I have been in these conditions for four years.
Another thing, visitor visa is only for 6 months stay and new lmia cannot be approved within this short period of time.
