Hi
I have my brother here as a visitor visa six months multiple.
He just came to Canada. I would like to keep him long without affecting my credit that I sponsored him. Otherwise I want to send him back after six months. He is just 26. Is there any way that I can keep him long legally. I believe that its not possible to convert visitor to student or work permit. Please suggest me. I know if he overstays here, it will lose my credit history. If apply in any other province or any other idea. He is not academically sound as well.
Waiting for your response.

If he wants to work he will need a work permit. To obtain a work permit he will need to obtain a full time job offer from an employer and that employer will also have to obtain an approved LMIA.

If he wants to stay longer than six months he can apply to extend his visitor visa before the six moths expires.

Converting a worker visa to a visitor visa

After reading this, I have a question. I'm an American citizen and my husband is from Ireland, staying in Canada while waiting on his U.S. Green card. He was on a workers visa, but it expired at the end of August. On August 4th, we applied to changed the workers visa to a visitor visa. It said it would only take 19 days. Here it is September 21st and I've heard nothing. There's no where I can call to see how it's going or to see if maybe I messed up his application. I check the myCanada website every day and all the application says is "submitted. Final decision not started." I'm so frustrated and scared. How do I find out if the application is actually even being reviewed?

There's nothing unusual about your situation and there's really nothing you can do but wait. It might take a few months to process the application.

He has implied status since the application was submitted before his work permit is expired and is fine to remain as a visitor in Canada (until he hears a result from CIC).
