I am a master's student in Canada, but my study permit expires on April 30, 2018 (tomorrow). However, I applied for an extension more than 2 months ago for another 3 months, so I think I will be on implied study permit from May 1st till my study permit is hopefully renewed.
My husband's open work permit also expires tomorrow, and he also did apply for an extension 2 months ago.
Our problem is that he has been admitted to a master's program, so he wants to apply for a study permit. But under the condition of "applying for study permit from within Canada" it is mentioned that:
