I recently asked my immigration lawyers about funds needed upon arrival top Canada. He sent me a link to a Federal Skilled Worker visa page which stated that I needed in excess of CA$11,150 as a single male. Then I saw that for the Quebec Skilled Worker Program a significantly less figure of $4000 (estimated) is asked for. I'm a Quebec Skilled Worker and I can assume the lower fees apply to me. However, it has made me feel a little unsettled, has anybody on QSW program been asked for funds equating to the amount asked for by the Federal Skilled Worker program?

Just make sure you do have the funds. If the officer thinks you might not be able to support your first few months in Canada (that's what the money is for), they might not allow you to enter.

They might not ask for it, but if they do, you HAVE to provide it. Failure can lead to refusal. So, make sure you bring some papers that show you've the money, or if you've a Canadian account bring your phone (if you do mobile banking).

Oh I've got enough as far as the Federal level is concerned. I was just a bit cheesed off that the lawyer (I think he was a trainee) gave me the wrong figure of $11115 instead of $4000, as Ive literally torn my arsehole saving that up (not literally). On the otherhand, maybe he did me a big favour...

It looks like Quebec expects you to have roughly $3000, while the rest expects $11000 (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/funds.asp), I would probably just follow your lawyers advice, unless you've a job offer. You don't have to proof funds if you've a valid job offer (and are already working legally).
