Contacted MP?

Has anyone contacted their MP to help with finding out more on the status of your spouses PR?

I tried to contact the embassy that we are going through, Hong Kong, many times but with no responce so I email my MP for help.

So I'm just wondering if anyone else enlisted their MP to help them get information with success.

hi my mp replied in a day telling me that he has sent a request. he followed up saying we will get info in a weeks time. will let you know if i get any response

My MP stated that as long as the app is still within normal processing times that there is nothing they can do to help.

I accually just got a reply from my MP today.
He told me the details of our case:
- Spousal sponsorship application received in Hong Kong in May 2011
- April 19, 2012: the medical will expire, so a new medical will be needed.
- March 26, 2012: the application has received positive selection, which means that CIC has recognized that your relationship is genuine.
- The background check for your husband has not been finalized yet.

Wow it took about a week for them to get back to me. I am very impressed. I definetly think it is worth contacting your MP.

Great! I contacted my MP last Thursday... still waiting for a response. This gives me positive hope that I will receive a somewhat detailed update as I have not heard anything since my initial sponsorship approval...
