Hi, :)

I an international student, finished my studies from Canada and recently got a job. I am going to apply for my PGWP.

Now I would like to apply for a workpermit for my spouse too.

He is back home.

I talked to a consulting Firm, and they asked for his original passport, our marriage certificate, letter from my employer etc.

They said they need his passport so that a visa can be issued for my husband.

I don't understand why would they ask for his passport???

I mean how can they ask for his passport and think a visa would issued for my husband? I thought only Embassy at my home country (or other Canadian embassies) could issue visa.

Also why would the Canadian embassy issue a visa for my husband with so little paperwork?

Any one can share any advice on this?

Are you applying for visa or the consultant on your behalf................

HI momi

The Firm is going to file all my paperwork. I have sent photocopies of my marriage certificate, my husband's passport and some other documents.

But now they want his original passport.

I dont even have my PGWP yet... I am on the process of applying.

The firm told me I could apply for PGWP and with that my husband can also apply for his work permit as a spouse (remember he doesn't have any Canadian visa & he is back home).

The spouse of a student can have a open work permit after getting TRV, if the consultant are applying on your behalf then you can give him original passport but make sure that they are credible enough............
