STOP!!! YOU WILL NOT QUALIFY FOR A CONJUGAL PARTNER SPONSORSHIP!

You have been given some good advice in your other thread, even though it's not what you wanted to hear.

There is absolutely nothing preventing you and your American boyfriend from being together (in either country), to establish the 1 year of cohabiting that is required to apply as a Common-Law couple. The fact that he chooses not to come to Canada, because he would not be able to work, is NOT going to help you with a Conjugal Partner application.

Trust what we are telling you, because it is the truth.

FYI - You'll most likely get several replies from heterosexual couples from the Philippines who have been successful. Unfortunately these cases don't help you at all since these couples face real immigration barriers which you do not (namely that divorce is next to impossible in the Philippines which prevents remarriage, foreigners cannot stay there long enough to become common law, and TRVs are very often refused for individuals from the Philippines trying to visit Canada and become common law).

The vast vast majority of successful conjugal apps, are those from the Philippines where divorce is illegal, same-sex marriage is illegal, and living with a married person is illegal... so multiple actual barriers to marriage/common-law in many cases.

I have personally never heard of a successful conjugal app for a US/Canadian couple. Perhaps there have been some, but if you pursue this you should ultimately expect a very long processing time followed by a refusal in the end, under the decision that you have no legal or immigration barrier to becoming common-law or getting married (once divorce is finalized).

You are getting advice from very senior members . You will not qualify .

I am Canadian my husband from a visa exempt country U.K.

We got married, my husband lives in the U.K. and my self in Canada . We was not able to leave our jobs for a period of 6 months to be with the other person ,nor was he able to leave his job for a year to come to Canada. Same reason we couldn't afford to do this. It doesn't matter how many threads you put up you will get the same answer as this is the only correct answer.

1) get divorced and remarry
2) He comes to Canada for 1 year .. simple nothing complicated become common law.

Much thanks to everyone who responded!

IF we marry, do we still have to live together for a year before applying or can we apply for spousal sponsorship straight away after marrying?

Thank you.

no, there is no obligation for married couples to live together prior to submitting an application. you can apply as soon as you get your marriage certificate after your marriage.

Again, much thanks to everyone who replied! Apologies if I sounded ignorant about the conjugal sponsorship.

Much appreciated
