Hello everyone,

I got conditional offer letter from Mohawk college for the program Computer Systems Technician - Network Systems and centennial college Computer Systems Technician – Networking 3404 . Both are diploma course.

My profile - 10 - 65%
+2 - 63%
Diploma in computer science-72%
Diploma in hardware and networking- 85%

3 year exp as system administrator in an IT company.
Ielts - L-7.5 R,W,S - 5.5 overall-6

Till now what i understood - Centennial college is on the heart of Toronto so the living expenses will be very high but lots of part time jobs . Mohawk is in Hamilton so the living expenses will be low as compared to Centennial.

Please suggest which course is better and which place is good for part time , low living.

The problem is you can always find someone who will say something bad about a college so the only way really is to google an official college ranking as a basis for whether good or bad. Its like saying take at face value a review on tripadvisor where some people are born to complain for no good reason. Often as with any uni or college it will be down to an individual experience and maybe a tutor is not as expected but that should not reflect on uni/ college as a whole.

Hello Bs65 .. You are right .. Because of one person in the college the whole college can loss the reputation. Do you have any idea about the living expenses and part time availability in both college.

did you look at the same courses in Sask or Manitoba? In my opinion if you can find same or similar course in Sask or manitoba, you should take in these provinces. In my opinion Job opportunities are more in these provinces? Do you have Co-op in these two colleges? What about computer technology program? Is it not relevant to your background?

Smaller cities r cheaper to live but less part time because they all r white dominated. But people surrounding culture easy life style where as Toronto is opposite. But if u r aiming for PR Ontario is not helpful Quebec or sask will fairly get u PNP currently

You can easily pay your tuition and expenses if you will get co-op. I don't have much idea about how much students get paid in Ontario as I am from Sask and finished all my co-ops here. You wouldn't able to save for your tuition fee from your part-time jobs tho. So co-op programs are helpful.

It's very easy to get part-time jobs in sask too. And there is nothing as such "white" dominated. At least I never felt like that here.

Canada overall is on the whole a very diverse and tolerant country regardless of race or religon so making such observations in a forum does not reflect a majority view else why would so many thousands of new immigrants come in every year. Agreed more rural areas can appear to be less diverse but that is just a sympton of the fact that many new immgrants tend to head for larger metropolitan centers, nothing else.

I said white dominated I did not say racist or ignorant. Canada is a great country. No doubt about it
