Hi guys I have a big confusion please help me with that....
Me and my girlfriend came as students in Vancouver....
She took a three year course while i did 1 year program...
2 months before my graduation we got married and after graduating i took work permit as dependent spouse.
I started working in a company in Vancouver and worked there for 6 months after that I got a opportunity through a consultant company in Alberta.
Just in fear as we are living separate I never updated my address also my employer company is based in Vancouver (letter head has Vancouver address also pay-stubs) .
My wife is still studying in Vancouver and cannot move with me . also i got my work permit renewed on the same address from Vancouver.

Now i am collecting documents to file for my PR through CEC but confused which address should i put on the application.

If I put Vancouver address is their anything wrong in that??(can i show Vancouver as my permanent address as also my wife lives there??)

if i put my Alberta address where i actually live , will it cause any problem as we are living separate from 6 months??

and also my pay stubs and employment confirmation has address from Vancouver for me and employer also !! but my tax deduction is according to Alberta rules as i live their to work with client.

any of you can help in this regard.

sorry for long question but just to explain the situation !

I'm not aware of any rule that says that someone with an SOWP cannot move for employment.... I think if you are legally married, then living apart will not cause you any problems. (It's a problem if you're claiming common-law status).

Generally, I would say you have to use the address of the principal applicant, and then write a letter of explanation ("My wife cannot move to Alberta until she finishes studying...").

There may be exceptions, for example, if you're living in temporary housing (employer provided) when you're in Alberta and returning "home" every 2 weeks to Vancouver.

But if you've established residence in Alberta (e.g. have an apartment), and you're the principal applicant, then you should use the Alberta address.

Thank you for the reply jes.
I have pay stubs employment confirmation letter which all have my Vancouver address on them already....(will it be good to put my alberta address now or it will cause alot of confusion cz in previous work permit application I used Vancouver address only)
i am living in alberta and i have established residence here for now.

Even my employer has head office in vancouver so all paystubs and employer letter head had address from Vancouver for employer also.

If am working in alberta and employer address is again vancouver ....will that make any difference..

sorry its a bit confusing but thank you in advance

For the CEC program it does not matter what province you work in. However, it DOES matter that you are truthful on your application. If you claim to work in BC but CIC finds out you actually worked in Alberta, that's misrepresentation and a red flag on your application.

RE the letter of employment: Regardless of the location of the home office (or the person writing the letter), the letter of employment should indicate the site of employment (Address, City, Province). This is probably shown on your T4 as well...

For your work permit, you have an open work permit so again it doesn't matter the location. I don't think the address on your work permit application will matter so much as lying on the PR application.

If you truly feel that your "home" or permanent residence is in Vancouver, then go ahead and explain that, and say you consider your Alberta address to be temporary. But trying to "cover it up" when it isn't a problem is silly and could jeopardize your application.

as i started working this year i do not have T4 and stuff but it can be misrepresentation of information , also it can be figured out from my tax that this province i live in .....really appreciate your comments thanx jes
