Hi guys,

This is actually basic question which should be super easy but I have a confusion on writing my last entry date :S

2001-05 My first entry to Canada (age 17)
~2008-05 (In Canada)Finished Secondary School and had spent 3 years in University
~2010-08 (In Korea) Completed my military service
2010-09 Returned to Canada
~Now Couple of trips in US and Shanghai. other than those, I have stayed in Canada continually.

What is my "last entry to Canada" then? Should small out-of-country trips be counted?
Can I just write 2001-05?

You are right - it is super easy. Small out of country trips are out of country trips. The question is simple... Last entry to Canada.

You need to provide the data of last entry to Canada. Why would you put 2001-05 when it was not your last entry to Canada? It was your first entry to Canada? That would be silly.

I went to Shanghai 2 weeks ago and spent 6 days and came back. Then the day I came back from Shanghai is the answer for the question?
Why is that date important for them? What if I go to US for trip next month? Then the answer should be changed eh?
Isn't it important because it provides how long a candidate lives in Canada?
"Returned from Shanghai last week" does not seem to be very important info for anyone :(

the question really doesn't care, that it is small trip or long trip. whenever you entry to canada very last and which port (air, ground, marine) that should be your answer.

You don't need to understand it you just need to answer questions truthfully??
