Hello,

I've recently received a job offer from Canada and I'm thinking about applying for the Express Entry (Federal Skilled Worker Program). However, I'm a bit confused about whether I meet the eligibility criteria for it or not. Could you guys help me out?

Here are some details you might find relevant:
  • I started my computer engineering degree in 09.2017 and completed it in 09.2022 (Outside of Canada).
  • I began with a part-time job in 09.2021 and transitioned to full-time employment with the same company (Outside of Canada) in 07.2023.

I have a couple of questions on my mind:
  • Firstly, when it comes to the Express Entry program, will they consider my part-time work experience while I was a student (outside of Canada)? (See https://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=394&top=29)
  • I've heard that part-time work of around 15 hours a week is usually counted, but anything above 30 hours isn't. However, even though I can prove that I worked for 30 hours a week, will this cause any issues with immigration?

Thanks
