Hello,
My husband and I are starting to get worried about filing taxes and making sure we get it right.
Our situation:
I am a resident of Alberta and plan on filing taxes in Canada. I worked most of 2010 in Alberta, but am currently in the states and will have 2 weeks of work here for 2010.
My husband is a US citizen who is waiting for his PR in Canada. He will be filing taxes in the states.
We have a son who was born in the US but technically a resident of Canada right now. I am receiving CCTB checks in Canada for him.
We filed jointly last year from the US (we were both living & working in the states in 2009).
Do I still file taxes in the US as well as Canada?
Can I file jointly with my husband in the US, but not in Canada?
Any help is appreciated!
