Confused who should be the main applicant

Hi Members,

I have got my ielts result yesterday (L 8.5,R 8.5, S 7.5, W 7.5), I have done my BE and have total of 7 years experience in software development. On the other hand my wife (Masters + 7 years work ex) could not manage 8 in listening and as has completed only 2 months in Toronto on W1 work permit. Can I apply for PR as a main applicant being in India(CRS score is 440+) for both of us? Or wait till my wife gets 8,7,7,7 in ielts as she has masters (CRS 465+)..

Please note I am currently in India and possess V1 visa and my wife is already in Canada working on a W1 closed work permit "special skill"

Please advise.

Have your profile up and see if you get an ITA. Based on current trend, 440+ should be able to fetch an ITA.

At same time, as a backup, ask your spouse to prepare for IELTS. Once she is ready and if you are missing out on ITA due to increase in points, ask her to book IELTS.

After reading the whole process, I understand that after receiving the last email we are asked to submit our passport for COPR - how can I manage this as my wife is in Toronto and she will require the PP there and I being in India?

You can request for change of visa office at that time for your spouse. People have done it in past and CIC has agreed for such requests.
