Hi,

Didn't understand the below requirement. We are from 2 different countries then how can we share same address for any reason?

One (1) document from three (3) of the following sets of options:
• Joint ownership of residential property or joint residential leases or joint rental agreements listing both the sponsor and the principal applicant; (Minimum 1 document).
• Proof of joint utilities accounts (electricity, gas, telephone); (Minimum 1 document).
• Important documents for you and your sponsor showing the same address, such as copies of Government issued identification
documents: driver's licenses, insurance policies, etc.
• Important documents for you or your sponsor showing that you are recognized as each other's spouse (such as employment or
insurance benefits). (Minimum 1 document).
• Documentary evidence of financial support between your sponsor and yourself.
• Other proof that your relationship is recognized by your friends and/or family (e.g. Letters, social media information showing a
public relationship, etc.)

Well you have to prove you're together. Use whatever you have to prove you're a couple.

2. No joint utility accounts
3.No doc with same address.
4. No insurance benefits together.
5. No financial support

Now what?

What stops you to have insurance plan? And what stop you to nominate your spouse in that plan even if she or he lives in different country?

Because I didn't take any insurance plan for myself too.

Well, you can't do the first 3. But you could show you are each others life insurance beneficiaries, or provide anything else that is an official sort of document showing you are recognized as each others spouses. You can show receipts from sending money to one another and if you have ever paid each others bills you can show proof of that. You can get your families and friends to write letters attesting to the fact that they know about your relationship and also any social media posts if you have that.

If you don't have that--do it. Get insurance together. Send money to one another and pay each others bills. Email your friends and family and discuss your relationship and do Facebook.

Unfortunately, this is a process. There is a lot of legwork that is necessary, and you can't accomplish it overnight. It has taken my husband and I 9 months to put together all the things we need for this.

To me, all of this is a true testament to your relationship. This process is messy and difficult. But you want to be together, so you will do whatever it takes to make that happen. Right?

Yes. Get letters from as many people as you can who have known about your relationship for a while. Get them to write it in their own words. Your family, her family, your friends, her friends. Anyone and everyone you or she knows. See your other post--I put something you can use there.

Hey, I am in process of getting the emails over the content you sent for us. I'll get a life insurance policy in a day or two with my wife as dependent/nominee.

Now, what about this: Documentary evidence of financial support between your sponsor and yourself.

Well... Western Union receipts of sending money to each other is a way of showing you financially support each other. Also, paying each others bills from time to time, if you can get a statement of who paid.

One question: There are people who get married after couple of meetings or even arranged marriage (never seen before) and they file application right away! It is near to impossible for such couples to send money and all that. How about such cases?
Just reminding that my wife is Canadian citizen living in Canada only and I am from India and living in India.

Just put yourself in the position of the VO officer ...what would you want as evidence to
prove that the marriage is genuine or not ...

1.
I do not get your response... The clearly say that 1 document of each group. Why to overload them with "as many letters as you can" ? Is it beneficiary to the case to provide more of the same info than requested??
The officer may decide to "read one letter per day" only to punish you. Can they?

2. I also have the same problem . I can provide proof of Financial support and letter from friends/family. But that about it.
Since the tax season is starting soon, I am thinking to declare marriage at the CRA T1 form and attach this for as an "important document". The alternatives:
a. to do new life insurance. Can it be done short term for the document only?
b. Write a explanation/excuse letter that their request cannot be provided in full in such condition (where couples do not live together). This is an absurd requirement.

Thanks
Alex

The government has just changed the process and so these forms are new. I expect that as the government starts to deal with applicants using the new forms, they will start to realize that there are some problems. Obviously this area is one problem: if the couple is not living together, they are told to submit other documents, two of which require the same address. I am sure this will be fixed in the future.
Meanwhile, the Canadian sponsor should have changed his or her status to married or common-law for income tax, so that could be used for the fourth item.
You could then get a term life insurance naming your spouse as the beneficiary, and also send some money via Western Union. The problem with this is that anything done at the last minute looks like you did it just for the application. In the past, this has made visa officers suspicious. I would hope that they realize that the forms are essentially demanding this.
In addition, I would include a letter stating why you do not have all three items: that you are young and don't have life insurance; that you don't have supplemental health insurance, or that your spouse cannot be added while living outside of Canada; that you don't live together, so cannot get anything with the same address; etc. Then provide what you can. Note that if you try to have your spouse added to the supplementary health insurance you get with your job, and the company refuses because the spouse is not in Canada, get this in writing - you can use it to show you tried, and that your company knows you have a spouse or partner - that is, it could be used as proof of item 4.
