Confused if Spouse is included in request for Passport

Hi everyone!

I applied for Permanent Residence last year with 437 points under the Federal Skilled Workers program and received the invitation to apply in April 2017. I submitted all the required documents within April.

I got married in June 2017 and coincidentally, CIC reached out just a day before my wedding for an update on my family, and I responded with the addition of my spouse. Within 10 days, I was requested to submit all the documents of my spouse including her police certificate, ECA and English Language Certification.
Within a week of submitting these documents within July, we received the email for her medical.

She went through her medical last week and today, I received the 'Ready for Visa' email which has requested for my and my dependents' passport as follows:
"Please provide passports or travel documents for yourself and each accompanying dependant, along with a copy of this letter, to the visa office..."

Just to add: her ECA is still in process since IQAS takes 9 weeks to complete the assessment. The receipts from IQAS were attached in the spouse addition application but the results of the ECA are still awaited.

Would my wife count as my dependent here? Do we BOTH have to submit our passports?

Thanks for your help.

She is your dependant. Send both your passports. Since you got married post AOR, her ECA and IELTS are not needed for PR processing though she will need it for employment in Canada. Congrats
