I've seen on multiple cic.gc.ca links, two different specs (35x45mm and 50x70mm). And on some posts here, I have seen some people state requirements like:

"The following must be included on the back of one photo:
The name and complete address of the photo studio and the date the photo was taken. The photographer may use a stamp or handwrite this information. Stick-on labels are unacceptable.
Your guarantor must clearly write: "I certify this to be a true likeness of (applicant's name)" and sign (guarantor’s name and surname). If you are renewing an adult passport, a guarantor is not needed."

^ When is THIS required in the post-ITA process for permanent residency? Thanks.

Ok, in your personal checklist post ita click on the info link next to the upload. Ignore every other source and just do the photo per that specification.

Different stages of the application have different specifications. Just go with what's asked at the time. Writing on the back of the photo is just for paper based apps

Right, so even when they request passport, they won't require me to send in a physical picture with what's written up there? Like name and date on the back.

If different stages have different specs, do they need variations of the same original picture sent with e-APR or new ones will be taken whenever asked for a different specification?

Sorry for so many questions, this is the sole part left for me so just making sure and preparing in advance for whatever will be required at a later date. Thank you.

For e-APR it's a soft copy with 35X45mm
At PPR stage you need to send photo 50X70mm with photographer stamp or signature & date at the back.

Hope this clears your confusion.

To a large extent, yes, thank you. Just one last thing. Do the pictures need to be the same both times? Or can I send a re-taken photo for PPR stage?
Also, is 35x45mm just the minimum, as in, can it be larger than 35x45 mm? Thanks a lot.

A: As long as the pictures taken date is not more than 6 months, it doesn't matter if they are same. Prefer a new one if more than 6 months old. AFAP provide the latest.
Also, is 35x45mm just the minimum, as in, can it be larger than 35x45 mm? Thanks a lot. A: AFAP stick to the specs.

Thank you! Perfect! I am also happy that you got the ITA finally this month. :)
I took my sweet time with e-APR but I wanted everything to be spot on as far as requirements are concerned. I mean, this is a huge deal for us. I've posted so often here. Now, the waiting period begins.
