Hey folks,

Slowly but surely my wife's application is coming together. So close to it being complete now, and ready to send off (hoping this time next week it'll be done!)

So, the final part I haven't tackled yet is this Financial Evaluation form (IMM 1283). I was just skimming the guide and noticed the minimum income part. Then I freaked out, as I was away for part of last year and thus my income isn't that high.

So I went back and read the guide properly, and it says that you need to meet the minimum income requirement if the person you are sponsoring ISN'T your spouse. Well my wife is my spouse of course! So I guess that's not a problem.

So, now I'm just rather confused about what I need to actually do in this part. I've worked solidly since mid-November, and then I had worked February until May last year (then I was overseas for six months with my wife). I also have a good chunk of money put away so I'm not short on funds!

Any ideas? Sorry if I've missed something obviously - all I've done for the past week is work to complete this damn application so I'm at melt down point now :p

Any light shed would be wonderfully appreciated!

Thanks!

If not enough financial information is presented sponsorship of spouse can also be denied,
therefore the best thing for you is to explain with the best detail what is the income from all sources
for the last year, also you need to explain the months that you were overseas, that will explain a shortfall,
you also need to present proof of any other source that can prove that you will provide for your spouse.
don't take this financial evaluation lightly, and send all necessary information of your resources

Thanks for the reply. Indeed I am frazzled from all of this paperwork. I looked through the Guide to Sponsor again and I'm supposed to fill in IMM 5481 instead - not this one at all :)

Thanks!
