Mindy,

Buffalo - 14 days. I don't know how long it takes to process a TRV (work) from the Philippines. Website states: 15 days.

Ondang,

Yup, my motto better safe than sorry.

Our compatriots working at the embassy sometimes are too hard on their own countrymen applying for TRVs, but that is because of the hardship/scarcity of good paying jobs in the Philippines, the officers are apprehensive that when a Filipino gets granted a visa, s/he will not go back to the Philippines and instead stay in Canada for good or longer than the requested time.

@ job_seeker..Thanks for the reply! Yes you are right it is better to apply in Buffalo so that we're not gonna worry na while we are having a vacation in the Philippines. :) By the way, I was wondering would it be ok if i will just apply for a SINGLE ENTRY instead of MULTIPLE? since my visa will be expiring in June, so ilang months na lang naman ang natira and i dont have any plans to go home again. .

@ ondang2..akala ko po sinabay nyo na lang sa pag apply ng work permit extension nya? so if ever na lumabas na nitong january, apply na lang sa Buffalo..para safe..and para no worries na during his vacation in the Philippines. :)

Hello,

Would like to get some idea/advice from you.My wife is planning to visit here in the Philippines this Septemeber 2011,,but his visa already expire and she need to apply for re entry at the Canadian Embassy in Manila, her open work permit will expire on November 2011.

Actually she already applied for her PR and is waiting for it.

My question is should there be any issues if she applied for re entry at Canadian Embassy in Manila?Considering that her open work permit will expire this November 2011?

What will be the scenario on this situation? Please share your advice and ideas.Thank you
