Confused about SOWP... Can anyone offer me some help?

Hi all, I have read everything I can to understand the relationship among Student Permit, SOWP and PGWP.... I know the validity of SOWP should be the same as SP, but I still have some questions:

1. If I would like to study one year further and I extend my SP online, how can I extend the SOWP? Do I need to have a NOC 0,a,b job (even partime)?
2. If I completed my study and applied for the PGWP. How can I extend the SOWP? Is it extended automatically?

1. No specific job is needed, but as for "even part-time," keep in mind you can't work full-time on a study permit unless you're on a scheduled break.

2. Of course it isn't automatic, you have to apply.

Make the two applications at the same time. They'll come back with the same expiry.

for question 2, I assume it is the same as scenario 1, I just need to make the two applications together and I will get the SOWP extended also?

No, when you have a PGWP you have to show NOC 0, A or B employment so you can't apply for them together unless you are already working for an employer and will continue to do so. You can submit a work experience letter and a few payslips and both applications together.

Would add that SOWP for spouses of international students isn’t guaranteed.
