Hello,
I want to apply for the Super visa for my parents next year, but I am confused about the Low Income Cut Off (LICO) criteria.
Actually I just got this new job in Oct 2015 with an annual salary of $60k. I am single, so the salary is more than enough to sponsor both my parents (total family size = 3). HOWEVER, what I want to know is that will I need to earn the salary mentioned in a specific calendar year only, i.e.- 2016, OR can I combine whatever I earn between Oct 2015 and Dec 2015 with first few months of 2016, and become eligible to cross the LICO faster this way?
I hope my question is clear. Please someone with knowledge about this respond!

This may not be the textbook answer, but I can respond based on my personal experience. When I was sponsoring my mother-in-law for the Super Visa, I hadn't been in Canada long enough to have a T4 to provide as evidence of income. Rather, I provided my offer letter and 3 months of pay stubs to demonstrate my salary. This was also supplemented with bank/investment account statements to demonstrate financial stability. The visa was issued without any issues. So, based on that, I don't see any reason why you couldn't apply based on the strength of your current job alone. That said, the more supporting documentation you can provide, the better.

Good luck!

Thanks a lot for this response. I have been waiting for this information since long.

I am a PR, profession student about to graduate (Feb 2016), and have a job offer from March 2016 on wards. I am planning to apply supervisa for my father to visit us and attend my convocation.

My income so far does not met LICO (my scholarship and studentship do not met LICO) but the job that I am having has much more salary than required LICO amount. Its great to know that offer letter, employment letter (with salary that mets LICO), few pay stubs and bank letter with saving is good enough to apply for supervisa.
