Confirmation of Permanent Residence Form

Hello there,

I was recently made aware that we were to have kept the CoPR form if I wanted to get married outside of Canada. When I landed, I was informed that I would only need it until I received my PR card. Normally I would have kept it with me, but unfortunately it sustained water damaged after a trip to the US prior to receiving my card and I disposed of it properly.

I was wondering if anyone else has been in this situation and what you have done? Did you request for another copy?

Someone gave you bad advice. You will need a copy of your COPR when you apply for OAS as well. So apply for a verification copy.
