Hi everyone. Im new in Canada. Vancouver, BC.
I would like to buy a concession card. Im 18. If I buy it online, how do they confirm my identity? Can I load it online too?
Also when I turn 19, would it automatically stop working? Or would I have to contact them?

You mean a bus pass/transit pass for kids?
The concession card is used to go in and out transit train stations and on the bus. It has a very distinct colour. (you tab when you go thru the gates and when you get on the bus)
Any transit staff or transit police can ask you to show them a photo ID to proof your age. They could write you a ticket for mis-using it.

So yes, anyone can get a concession compass card. And there is no system to track your age and stop you from using after your 19th birthday. But you should NOT be using it after you turn 19.

This is what's on the translink site:
Concession Fares
Eligible for HandyCard holders, seniors 65 years and older and youth 14 to 18 years with valid photo identification proving age, and children 5 to 13 years.
