Completing Spouse sponsorship application

Hi guys,

I am now completing the spousal sponsorship applications to sponsor my wife to Canada.

I want to know. How long did it take for you guys? Did you write a lot for the answers for the applications? A lot of pictures? It seems to me that to answer only one question on the form IMM5490, it takes FOR EVER.

Allow at least a month to get an app together. Filling out all the forms, gathering the documentation, applying for police certs (though some of those can take a lot longer), completing the medical, rechecking everything, organizing the app.

Your answers depend on your situation. You may take only one sentence to answer a question, whereas another person might need 3 paragraphs to answer it.

When deciding on photos, go for "quality over quantity", choosing the ones that best highlight your relationship. You don't need hundreds of photos; there are people who only sent in around 10 pics and were approved.
