Completing IMM 1344 Application to Sponsor

In question 7 in the Sponsor Personal Details section of this form I am asked to provide the date (YYY-MM-DD) that I received Canadian citizenship and a UCI/Client ID number.

I have a Certificate of Canadian Citizenship card with a card number - which I assume is the UCI/Client ID - but the only date is "1979" printed as a form of watermark on the card. I have no idea what the month and day was. Completing the electronic version of the form without day and month entry creates an ugly red error message.

What can I/should I do about this problem?

Call CIC and ask. They usually can track that down for you

It's asking when you became a citizen, not when you got the certificate. (Unless you got it the same day)

To add, UCIs are a relatively new development, so if you did your landing process awhile ago, you may not have one.

If you received your citizenship in 1979, you won't have a UCI.
