completed 4.5 years on work permit and applied for PR. i have left over 6 months to stay in canada. If there is any delay in process completion and get the pr, can i work in canada

You can, if you renew you work permit. Once you are within 4 months of the expiry of your current permit, you may be eligible to apply for a "bridging open work permit."
