I have a friend based in the Middle East, he was in search of job in Canada. We came across this placement agency in Calgary. They ask my friend to pay $5,000 for the processing fee etc. They gave an Lmo to my friend and sent the documents to the Canada Embassy in Riyadh. After 3 weeks, my friend received a refusal letter coming from the embassy saying that the Lmo given by the placement agency is invalid and the offer of employment is inconsistent with the terms of federal-provincial agreement.
Before sending the document to the embassy in Riyadh, my friend sent it first to the agency's office to check on the document etc. The agency sent his document to Riyadh and charge him $300 courier cost + $ 150 for Work permit fee.
This is really frustrating. After a month they replied that they have another Lmo but the location is outside Calgary. My friend is expecting a job in Calgary because his friends are based here. He wanted to withdraw the application and have a refund but the agency told him that they will charge $ 2oo per hour every time his application has been open or process. OMG... pls need some advise for my friend.
