Just want to ask, what's the difference between a Commom Law and a Conjugal relationship? What are the chances of sponsoring my partner under each circumstances?

A Conjugal relationship is when one partner can't enter Canada or vice versa to establish their relationship it could be because the person keeps getting denied entry to Canada or they can't get married in their country of residence. Conjugal is often harder to prove but it can still be done. Common-law is when you have lived together in a continued period of 12 months without break!

If there is any legal way for you to get married, or to live together for 12 continuous months to become common-law.... then you wouldn't qualify for conjugal. Conjugal is basically only used when same-sex marriage is prohibited in the applicants home country and they have been refused for TRV to Canada and other countries that allow it, or if the applicant is previously married but are in a country that does not allow legal divorce easily (like Philippines).

I'm into a same-sex relationship, and no other option but to go through conjugal. I'm a PR and will be moving to Canada soon and my partner will be left in my home country. I'm planning to sponsor him as soon as i arrived in Canada.

Is there any statistics that shows how conjugal relationship for same-sex is being approved or denied? What is the most convincing proof we have to present?

Did he attempt to get a TRV to visit Canada, where you can get married?
Did you look at getting married in any other country that allows same-sex marriage and he is able to travel to?
Could you legally live together for 1 year to get common-law status?

No, not yet.

If he hasn't even attempted to get a TRV to Canada, or if you are a PR of Canada and have a passport to your home country meaning that you could live there together for 1-year to become common law... then you may get rejected as conjugal.

So complicated....what's the best option i should do to sponsor him?

Try to get married in a third country. If that doesn't work, try to get a TRV so that he can come here and get married. If that doesn't work, move back and live with him for a year to become common law.
