Common-Law time frame of 12 months together Question

My partner and I have been in a common-law relationship for the past 4 years. The first 2 years, we do not have both of our names on the leases or any joint accounts, but we were studying at university and living together. However, the 3rd year, we are both on the 12-month apartment lease. The 4th year, we were traveling together and have no documentation of leases or joint accounts.
We are now trying to apply for common-law sponsorship. In the past few weeks we have opened joint bank accounts. We are wondering how to account for the past year. Does immigration count the 12-month lease we had in our 3rd year of our relationship as valid towards 12 months of living together or does it need to be the past 12 months? Are there any ways to show that we were still in a committed relationship for the past year while traveling?

Thank you in advance for your responses.

Submit all and everything you have and shared as a couple over the duration of your relationship. Common-law are one of the trickiest and most difficult types of relationships for which to prove validity. CIC will come down on you like a ton of bricks!

Gather EVERYTHING you have & submit it!
