Hello Guys,
I am new to this forum, I hope this is the right place to post this question:
Will I be eligible to sponsor my common law partner if we have lived together overseas for 1-2 years?
Background:
I am a Canadian Citizen.
I met and lived together with my GF (From Korea) halfway through her 1 year work vacation VISA (Essentially 5 months together, not enough for common law AFAIK). Her VISA is set to expire this month and we are planning to move together to Australia in January.
If we live together for 1-2 years overseas, are we still eligible to be common law partners for her to be able to come back to Canada?
Or if anyone has any advice on our plans, any help would be great! I am in-experienced with our immigration laws and the immigration consultant we consulted (Korean based) has said our plan should be OK.
Thank you so much!
